The original music radio festival “Music from Batumi” opened on August 16. The project is the winner of the Ajara Ministry of Culture’s Festivals Grant Competition. Its goal is to promote and popularize music, and to support aspiring and renowned author-performers creating original music.
Musical events are held every evening at 8:30 PM on a specially arranged open stage in front of Ajara Radio, a public broadcaster. The stage is dedicated to artists who create original music.
On the first day of the festival, the group “Nu Mieyerdnobit” (Don’t Lean On) and musician Irakli Pagava presented their original work to the audience. The final event of the festival will be held on August 24 in Keda, at Fridon Khalvashi Park.
“Music from Batumi” is organized with the support of the Ajara Ministry of Culture and Batumi City Hall. Musical evenings will continue until August 19.
