The original music radio festival “Music from Batumi” has come to an end. As part of the programme, musical evenings were held from August 9 to 16 in Batumi, Kobuleti, and Keda.
The festival was selected as a winner of the Grant Competition of the Ministry of Culture of Adjara. Its goals are to showcase original works by contemporary Georgian musicians, support their professional development, introduce Georgian audiences to international artists, and promote the cultural potential of the region.
This year, “Music from Batumi” was held at a new location, on a stage set up adjacent to the Adjara Television and Radio branch (16/18 Memed Abashidze Street). Georgian singer-songwriters and musicians performed for the audience, including Sabina Chanturia Vamlingi, Davit Zhorzholadze, Tini Tsuladze and her band, Asteroid, Shalvadore G, Geobit Production, the Azerbaijani musical group Muhammad and Mejazz, Adamiani-Samyaro, and Vaja Tugushi.
The festival programme also covered two municipalities of Adjara. On August 15, Vaja Tugushi and Cat Fish performed for the audience at Kobuleti Central Park. On August 16, original music was presented at Fridon Khalvashi Park in Keda by Irina Khinikadze and her band, as well as Asea Sul.
